Davin has led a typical writer's life. His working CV includes stints as a postman, dustman, dishwasher, tractor driver, labourer, fruit picker, insurance salesman, shop assistant, office cleaner, warehouse worker, farmhand, golf caddy, porn actor, technical translator, fork-lift truck operator, and software engineer.

Now a long-term resident of the Netherlands, Davin's short fiction has appeared in over seventy print magazines and anthologies on both sides of the Atlantic, as well as in selected online markets.

He is the winner of the Historical Novel Society's Solander Annual Writing Competition (2010), and was twice-nominated for the Pushcart Prize. His work has received multiple Honourable Mentions in The Year's Best Fantasy & Horror, edited by Ellen Datlow, Kelly Link and Gavin J. Grant.
